A Publicity Stunt

Mayra, a high school senior, is determined to keep her school’s journalism club, Matapena, alive. To boost its appeal, she secretly interns as a “School Crew” reporter for Snoop, the youth section of Batavia Pos—a move she must hide from her disapproving sister, Sonya. But being a young journalist isn’t easy. Her editor, Rig, pushes her to write nonstop, straining her friendships and dragging her grades down. As sacrifices mount, Mayra begins to question her choices. A Publicity Stunt is a heartfelt coming-of-age novel about passion, responsibility, and the price of chasing one’s dreams.
