The Sentimentalism of Future Corpse

The Sentimentalism of Future Corpse

by
Sony Karsono

Sentimentalisme Calon Mayat' consists of 8 short stories written by Sony Karsono between 1995-2002 with various forms of innovation. The stories in this book tend to be dark and cynical, and optimism emerges from the explorative genre (from realism, absurdity to sci-fi).

'Sentimentalisme Calon Mayat' also provides a flexible storytelling experience, exploring how terror works and is depicted throughout the stories. In this collection, we will encounter ghosts of the New Order regime, seen-but-not-seen and vice versa. The eight stories in this book are concluded by an essay from Afrizal Malna, which opens our inner eyes to the New Order regime that is actually just a fingertip away, and presents new possibilities for speculative stories crafted by Sony.
