THE SILENCE IN SUMIRAH’S HEART
Three women from three different eras endure solitude and injustice at every step. Sunyi, a metropolitan girl, hides her origins behind contact lenses. Sumirah, a loyal village woman, is forced to sign an agreement that strips her body of meaning, turning her into a vessel for men’s desires. Suntini, a widow, never knew why the state took her away—vanished without a word of liberation—opening the somber three-act story in this book. More than tales of misfortune, these stories trace a long journey through women’s silence across generations, revealing the darkness of human history.
