The Girl with The Secret Sauce

After the death of Mbah Nem, Tyo realizes that his family will never be the same without his beloved grandma. Later, her death opens up two intriguing fact about her mysterious life. First, Mbah Nem was not her grandma. Thus, who is Mbah Nem, a woman who nurtures him, anyway? Second, in the midst of the Revolution in Surakarta, a single peanut sauce (pecel) recipe had saved the entire family. Along the journey, secrets are revealed one by one. Unexpectedly, the recipe contains much more than peanuts and herbs; it brings along Salinem’s loyalty and love which became a witness of struggle and despair.
