Amalia Yunus, born in Bangil, Pasuruan, studied Psychology at the University of Indonesia and Intercultural Communication and European Studies at the University of Applied Sciences Fulda, Germany. Her debut, Tutur Dedes: Prayer and Curse, set in Nusantara’s history, was a jury selection at the Renjana Indonesia Manuscript Search. She won second place in the 2021 Jakarta Arts Council Novel Competition for her work Berat (Heavy).
