Father’s Wallet, Mother’s Shoes
Zenna was the sixth child among eleven siblings. They lived on Mount Singgalang with their family. Since they were little, Zenna worked hard to make a living, even going to school with old shoes and selling boiled corn. Abak promised to buy new shoes but never did, leaving Zenna behind forever. Feeling neglected as a middle child, Zenna worked hard on their own and bought shoes themselves. On another mountain, Mount Marapi, Asrul and their sibling Irsal helped their mom, Umi, survive after their dad left. Despite their dad occasionally giving money, it was never enough. Asrul always found cinnamon sticks in his dad wallet. Asrul didn't have a wallet because he never have money. Asrul dreamed of building a house for Umi. Eventually, Asrul and Zenna met and decided to improve their lives together. They got married, faced challenges, but encouraged each other, saying they've faced worse.
