When Dusk Falls in Nara

When Dusk Falls in Nara

by
Zaky Yamani
For years, Debora Nara lived with an emptiness after learning she was abandoned by her mother, Maria. One day, she set out on a long journey to find her, seeking an explanation for why she was cast aside. But the journey felt like a pilgrimage into a nightmare: tracing the fate of a once-peaceful village destroyed by the greed of one family, occupied by armed soldiers, drowned in blood from massacres, scarred by the violation of nature, and sustained by slavery. At the center of all this tragedy were two names haunting many lives: Zacharias and Maria. Debora Nara never imagined what awaited her in her ancestral village.
