TIME TO NOT MARRY

by
Amanatia Junda

The short story collection Time To Not Marry by Amanatia Junda consists of 14 stories featuring female protagonists from various backgrounds and ages. Written between 2012 and 2017, the stories are arranged randomly in the table of contents.
Some of these stories have been published in both online and print media. Beyond centering on women, the collection invites readers to delve into the minds of its characters—often wandering, fragmented, and lost in memories of unresolved personal matters or thoughts they have never surfaced before.
The stories also explore diverse social issues, including rape, forest fires, corruption, elderly women living on the streets, the dynamics of romantic relationships, the bonds between grandparents, friendships between women, and the complexities of mother-daughter relationships.

Amanatia Junda is a writer and editor affiliated with the publishing division and literary community KBEA. She published her short story collection Waktu untuk Tidak Menikah in 2018. Since then, she has been part of Perkawanan Perempuan Menulis, a collective of six women writers from diverse backgrounds, who collaborated to publish the short story collection Tank Merah Muda, exploring women's memories in the aftermath of 1998.
Born in Malang, she now resides in Sleman, Yogyakarta.
